For branded gift cards where you pay either a design or integration fee, you can customize your fonts. Fonts cannot be customized on our free or pro plans.

It is important to note there are two types of font customizations:

  1. Fonts used within the image files for the cover, card, background and other components can be any font you have the right to use. Because these fonts are ultimately saved as image files, your customers and recipients do not need to have the font installed on their computer nor do you have to use a service such as Google Fonts or TypeKit once they have been saved.
  2. Fonts that are not embedded an image file are different and have specific licensing requirements. This is what is used on the "open" link, to and from lines, message, gift card amount, links below the gift card and store name. We recommend using a free font from Google Fonts — just let us know the name of the font.

If we are designing your gift cards and you would like us to use a specific font on the image files, please let us know. We have access to all Adobe Fonts, Google Fonts and many others. If we do not have the font you need, ask for more details.

If you would like to use a font outside of image files that is not in Google Fonts, you will need to obtain a license for the "webfont" version of that font separately. We recommend Adobe Fonts (formerly TypeKit) for this. Once you've set up your account, you can create a "Web project" and add the fonts you want. Adobe will supply you with a small code snippet that you can send to us along with the font name you want to use.
